The S.B. International push rod specifications have been changed. Our last listing required the use of "Graduated Checking Balls" when measuring drilled or cupped push rods. These graduated balls were inserted into the drilling or cup and the resulting measurement was listed as the overall length. This was done to OEM specifications so that the effective operating length of the push rod was measurable. The lack of availability of these checking balls has resulted in an industry wide problem in measuring push rods. SBI has measured every push rod and now lists the actual measurable length using equipment available in every Rebuilder's shop. It should be noted that variations to specifications will be greater for push rods with forged cups due to variations in "as forged" components.
